Fiberlay MEKP (Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide)

MEKP is the most commonly used organic peroxide initiator. MEKP is typically used as a catalyst for room temperature curing of most polyester and vinyl ester resins. MEKP is the catalyst added to polyester resins, casting, & vinyl ester resins as well as gelcoats. As the catalyst mixes with the resin or gelcoat, a chemical reaction occurs, creating heat which cures (hardens) the resin or gelcoat.
