Prawning on both sides of the Island continues to be good. The average size is still larger than normal. The commercial season is not too far away, so get out there while you can.

Salmon fishing is still very hot. The big White Springs (Aka Ivory Kings) are passing by on the "Salmon Highway" in the deep water out in the middle of Georgia Straight . To target these feisty fish head a few miles past Five Finger Island and drop the gear to about 200ft. Then point your bow at the Sunshine Coast and keep trolling until you mark fish. As the Highway changes location you have to find the fish each time. These large Chinook are mostly American fish heading to Puget Sound. Target them with Glow Chartreuse and white spoons with glow flashers.

Lingcod and Rockfish season kicks off on May the first. So get your swimbaits ready.

Trout fishing in local lakes is starting to heat up. Power bait off the bottom and Gibbs Mini G spoons are best bets right now.

Bass season is just around the corner. As soon as we get some warmer weather it will take off. The Harbour Chandler is about to begin carrying the best bass gear around. Stay tuned for updates.
