Big Fish Are Here!!!

Things have really picked up in the Gulf this week, with much larger fish moving into the Nanaimo area. There have been many good reports from Entrance Island South along Gabriola and down to Thrasher Rock. Local 'hot rods' Clyde and Steve landed the nice spring in the picture above near Entrance Island on a White Knight Loony Spoon. While a bit farther South along Gabriola, long time salmon guide Bob Meyer from Silver Blue Charters was spooled by what could only have been a really good sized fish. He also reports that "I haven’t seen that much bait in 10 years. Columns 100 feet across, 100 feet deep everywhere" This is great news for this seasons fishing, and the overall health. His top lure was our own Harbour  chandler custom designed Killy Magee spoon. 

Glow Herring Aid has been a top flasher for the week, with Glow Green a near second.

Also a reminder, prawning should be opening April 1st, so get your gear ready. We have a decent supply of traps and ropes for now. But as we have learned over the last two years, "the early bird gets the prawn trap".

Crabbing is good, but deeper has been better than typical depths. Pick up one of our 150 sinking lines to reach the bigger boys. we also now have non-lead sinking line in stock.
