Georgia Straight Winter Springs

Fishing has been a bit less consistent than last week for bigger fish, and the fish are moving around. There are still loads of fish out there, but more undersized mixed in with the legal size. So if you do not mind catching a lot of salmon you should be good to go.
There have defiantly been some larger fish up around Hornby and French Creek with some in the higher teens being reported. Interestingly the lure I keep hearing about is the Krippled KC. (Available in Store or by phone, not on website yet)
Saltspring Island fishermen are getting nice fish around Booth Bay, with green glow Coho killers. Also there are good prawning reports coming from that area too.
Nanaimo has continued to have above average amounts of salmon and baitfish They are moving around with the bait, so no one location is set in stone. Entrance island is still good, but Five Fingers is picking up now too. Chartreuse/glow hootchies have been consistently working. Blue hootchies like 'Rocket Ship' have also become popular. I believe local fisherman Shane's daughter started this trend with a free hootchie from our Harbour Chandler free hootchie bucket. (Remember the free Hoochies are only available to small children)
Tent Island has been excellent for salmon and prawning. Local top rod Jordan B did well with yellowtail spoons and matching flasher.
