Big Springs Showing up.

The big Chinook have started to arrive in the mid-Island area. Chandler staff reported hooking into some nice Springs in the high 20's and up to 30lbs in the Entrance Island area. It was a evening bite for the last few days with early morning fishermen not getting a lot of success. If possible check your solar lunar tables for the daily bite time.

Entrance Island and Thrasher Rock has been better than Five Fingers with Hit 'n Run Skinny G spoons paired with Hit 'n Run flashers being the best lure flasher combo for the Chinook.

The Coho fishing is still on fire all around Entrance Island, French Creek and Comox area. Maverick Coho killers are paired with Sourpuss flashers are catching the most Coho.

For salmon jigging the best lures have been Herring Aid L'il Nibs for springs and Blue Sardine Colt Snipers for the Coho.

Lingcod fishing has been fairly consistently good. The new Zman DieZel Minnowz in Bad Shad have been the top lures. These swimbaits are holding up a lot longer against lingcod teeth than anything else.

In Alberni the Sockeye run is still going strong but should start tapering off soon. They are having a big run this year with larger fish in the mix.
