Epic Coho Reports!

I'm getting great Coho reports from both salt and fresh water fishermen. In the rivers a big push of fish has made their way in with the rains last weekend. The rivers have dropped back down, and cleared up so we have perfect conditions for the next little bit.
Chrome Coho can be had in just about every creek and river on the Island right now. The top lure have been spinners like Blue Fox in Silver/Flo Red (Which looks orange to my eyes). The other winners have been our custom made Cherry Cola worm made by Western Fishing Operations, and the newish BNR Soft Bead North West Steelheader. This odd looking spiky bead is different, but effective.
In the ocean there still Coho to be had around Entrance Island and Five Finger Island. Small spoons like Silver Horde Pink Sink or T-Rex hoochies will work for them. There is also a massive run of Chum coming in right now. More than I've ever seen in Georgia Straight. I have a report from Entrance Island of good success with them, on pink Sockeye style hoochies like MP15 trolled very slow and shallow.
There are lots of feeder Chinook also moving around the Entrance and East Gabriola Island areas. Troll deep, right off the bottom in 200ft of water. Glow cop car spoons like Cookies and Cream or White Knight Looney spoons are your best bet. While there are keepers there are also many 10-12inch fish in the mix. If you are targeting winters check your gear often. While the amount of these little guys is good news for next year, they are defiantly a pain right now.
