A New Fishing Season
2020 Jan 25th
Welcome to a brand new fishing season.
There are good amounts of Chinook in the 10-18 lb range showing up at Clark Rocks and Five Finger Island. Coho Killers and Skinny G spoons have been best, in Irish Cream and Bon Chovey patterns. The fish are still deep, 140-180 feet down.
Tent Island and Pollier Pass have been very productive. It's more sheltered there so it's been the better bet lately. French Creek hasn't sent me any reports lately, so if you've fished there please email your results to me. hc.tackle@shaw.ca
Prawning has been red hot out at Entrance Island. However it will close for two weeks on February 1st. But that's OK, as it is Vancouver Boat show week, February 5-9th. As always we will have a big booth there, and will be matching all the deals here in our Nanaimo store as well. We have incredible bulk deals on salmon and cod jigs.
We also have new custom flashers created by our staff and customers. I particularly want to try 'Fancie Glancie' and 'Hit n Run'.
Tips up, Steve Vavrik
