Boat loads of Salmom

Just a quick up date before the weekend. Chinook fishing is incredible right now. Catching 30 legal fish a trip is a possibility, with one local charter guide saying he had 53 to the boat. Average fish is mid teens, with some much larger fish starting to show. There are huge amounts of bait from Lanceville to Gabriola Island. Best lures have been small 3" Killy Magee and Mavrik spoons. Clown hootchie (OMW106R) also produced well. The Coho move around with the bait, but once you find them they are hitting Coho Killer spoons in gold/silver and small blue spoons. There has also been a lot of Orcas around. I took an Australian friend out for his first ever kayak trip and we bumped into them off shack island. So get out there, as there is always something to see on the water. Tips up, Steve Vavrik
