Christmas Salmon

Merry Christmas to all. I hope everyone gets a chance to take their boats out over the holidays. Its a perfect time as the salmon are at their absolute peak for eating quality,  and you can even keep them. We have big schools of feeder Chinook around Nanaimo. Most are still just undersized but if you put in your time you should get a keeper. Tent Island has less fish but they are larger. In the 10-15 pound range. French Creek continues to be hot spot, with excellent reports of 10-12 pounders coming in. Herring Aid spoons and flashers have been the most productive. T-Rex hootchies and Bloody Nose glow teaser heads have also been working Prawning is great around Entrance Island. I've had a couple reports saying that guys are getting only male from one side of the reef, and only female from the other. I would love to know if anyone else has had this experience, and if its consistently one side of the reef for each gender. Please email me if you have information regarding this.
