Late Summer Fishing
2020 Aug 26th
Local fishing action has slowed over the past week. Recent heavy rains have sent mature fish closer to their rivers and streams of origin. This leaves undersized as the majority of our cast until a fresh run arrives. Action has been pretty good north of us, so we expect that to happen any day. Close to shore at Neck Point and the Cannery are normally productive this time of year. A few small Springs were caught off Thrasher on the Tomic 602 plug. Yamashita hoochies that are working well are the OA84R, HC Custom Snot Rocket Needlefish (NG140-34R) and the OMW73R. Now the local commercial season has been closed for a few months the prawning is picking up as well.
