Pinks in the Bay

Just a quick area report. The Pinks are in Departure Bay. The standard small, single, barbless hook rule has been put in effect. All other salmon species must be released. We had a great batch of very large Chinook in our area. Pink Sink spoon, and anchovies were best. I've had reports of Chinook, Coho and Pinks all caught on the same trip with the Pink Sink Spoon.The majority of the fish are still deeper than normal. 150-220 feet. I hear excellent reports from French Creek and the Southern tip of Texada Island. These fish should move to the Nanaimo area soon. Barkley Sound and the Alberni Canal are also producing very well. Cop Car, and Gold spoons at 50 ft have been working. Tips up, Steve Vavrik
