The S5 Sentinel installs quickly on virtually any boat and pairs easily with most seating systems. Built from marine-grade aluminum die-cast components with a trivalent chromate finish and military-grade powder coat, it offers exceptional strength and durability. The fully adjustable shock absorber — FOX FLOAT or RockShox, depending on configuration — allows you to fine-tune compression and rebound to match changing sea conditions and payloads. Its 8-pivot design provides increased lateral stability and a noticeably smoother ride, while IGUS bushings and 316 stainless steel hardware ensure long service life in harsh marine environments.
With 4 inches of vertical suspension travel and 1.5 inches of forward surge protection, the S5 significantly reduces deceleration forces associated with wave impact. This results in better control, less body stress, and a dramatically improved ride quality.

I took advantage of HC Black Friday Sale and ordered two different shockwave suspension seat bases, along with some other items. The S5 and S5-AL. The S-5 was the last white one in stock and was an exceptionally low price. I assumed the store was blowing out the one only item so ordered the S5-AL to match. HC processed my order and inquired if it was correct. Why two different basis Was this a mistake? It turns out that a mistake had been made with the pricing of the S5 as low as they had. I must commend HC for the integrity they showed in honoring the advertised price even though it was a mistake. Unfortunately, one of the seats was missing some hardware. I reached back out to HC regarding the missing hardware and received a bag of the missing parts the next day. The only reason I have given a 4star rating is because the seat basis are still in the boxes. But if they perform as well as HC does with their customer support the last star will be added to this review.
